Joint Partnership Action Leads to Full Closure of Address in Cornwall |
||
|
Cornwall Council Housing, Cornwall Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Team, and the Falmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team have worked in close partnership to successfully obtain a full closure order on a residential address in the Falmouth area. This action follows sustained reports of serious anti-social behaviour that was having a significant and detrimental impact on the safety, wellbeing, and quality of life of local community. The closure order, granted by the court today, legally prevents access to the address for three months. This means: This step is only taken when all other reasonable and proportionate interventions have been explored such as supporting the residents through appropriate agencies or charities for example and when behaviour is assessed as causing ongoing harm to the wider community. For the tenant, a closure order means: Falmouth Neighbourhood team would like to thank members of the public and partner agencies who supported this process by reporting concerns and providing information. Community intelligence and engagement are vital in helping agencies take appropriate and effective action. Falmouth Neighbourhood team and Cornwall Council wish to make clear that behaviour of this nature is not acceptable and will be addressed using all available legal powers when necessary. Enforcement action is always balanced with safeguarding considerations and support for those involved. We wish to reassure the community that partnership working will continue to prevent further harm, support those affected by anti-social behaviour, and promote safe and respectful neighbourhoods in Falmouth and Helston as well as those across Cornwall. Anyone experiencing anti-social behaviour is encouraged to report it through the appropriate channels so concerns can be assessed and responded to as early as possible. If you are affected by anti-social behaviour, support is available through the following avenues: | ||
